Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Ourcade (“we”, “us”, “the app”) collects when you use the iOS app, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Ourcade you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who we are

Ourcade is operated by Dominic LaMarca (“we”). You can reach us at domlamarca@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

We try to collect as little as possible. Specifically:

Stored on your device only (in iOS app storage, never sent to our servers):

Token balance, total plays, daily-challenge progress
Personal-best scores per cabinet
Tutorial-seen flags
Audio and haptic preferences

Sent to our leaderboard service (Supabase) so global rankings work:

The 3-letter initials you choose inside the app (these are not your real name; they are an anonymous handle you select)
Your scores per cabinet, with optional level/tap counts for compound scoring
A unit label and timestamp

We do not collect your real name, email address, phone number, contact list, photos, location, IP-derived precise location, advertising identifiers, or biometric data.

3. How we use the information

Display global leaderboards and compute your rank inside the app
Award daily-challenge bonuses, personal-best bonuses, top-10 bonuses and top-1 bonuses based on your scores
Persist your progress between app launches

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to build a profile of you outside the app.

4. Children’s privacy

Ourcade is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has used the app and submitted scores, contact us and we will remove the records.

5. Third parties we use

Apple — App Store distribution and (in future updates) push notifications. Apple’s privacy practices apply: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
Supabase — leaderboard storage. Supabase processes the score and initials data described above on our behalf. Privacy details: https://supabase.com/privacy

We may add a crash-reporting service (e.g. Sentry) in the future. If we do, this policy will be updated and the diagnostics collection will be toggleable in the Settings screen.

6. Data retention

Leaderboard rows are kept indefinitely so historical rankings remain meaningful. Because rows are tied only to your chosen 3-letter initials and not to anything that identifies you personally, deleting your account on the device does not require deleting them.

If you would like a specific past run removed from the public leaderboard, email us with the cabinet name, approximate date, score, and initials and we will remove the matching row.

7. Your rights

You can:

Delete your local account at any time through Settings → Delete Account. This wipes all data on your device.
Request data export by emailing us. We will send you a JSON copy of any rows tied to your initials within 30 days.
Opt out of audio, music, or haptics through Settings.

If you live in California, the EU, the UK, or another jurisdiction with data-protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, UK GDPR, LGPD), the same rights apply and you can exercise them through the email above.

8. Security

Leaderboard data travels over HTTPS to Supabase. Local data lives in iOS app storage protected by your device passcode. We do not run our own servers and do not export data to other systems.

No system is perfectly secure. If you discover a vulnerability, please email us responsibly before disclosing publicly.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy we will update the date at the top and surface a notice in the app on next launch. Your continued use after the update constitutes acceptance.
